Lead Trainer
Julie Harrish is a corporate oil and gas professional by day... and a crazy cat lady, McNuggets enthusiast, 2000’s hip hop aficionado, inflexible yogi and weightlifting fiend by night (or well, all the time). She’s an ERYT 200 yoga teacher, trained with Y7 Studio in New York City and Power Yoga Canada in Oakville, Ontario, plus a NASM-certified personal trainer - so she can talk to you about chakras and deadlifts in the same breath.
Julie teaches Power Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Yin, Restorative Yoga, Conscious Connected Breathwork, Mat Pilates, and Strength Training, basically, if it involves moving your body and maybe sweating a little (or a lot), she’s into it. Her classes are built on the belief that movement is for every body, diet culture is garbage, and that you can absolutely discover your strongest, most badass self without hating burpees or giving up carbs.
Her goal? To help you get out of your overthinking brain and into your amazing, capable body. To remind you that you are tougher than you think. And maybe, just maybe, make you laugh while holding plank a little longer than you wanted to.

I was in my late twenties and had just finished university when my journey to healing really began. There I was with a great job, loving family and so many possibilities in front of me. Yet something was wrong, I had a lot of anxiety and I was generally unhappy and I had no answer as to why I felt this way.
I started exploring opportunities for healing which led me to yoga which ultimately changed my life and helped me to feel a lot better. I went on to study yoga with Baron Baptiste, one of the creators of power yoga completing over 1000 hours of study directly with the Baptiste Institute. I just wasn’t satisfied though with knowing that yoga worked for me. I wanted to understand how yoga works and I also wanted to help people who had yet to find a place on their mats. This led me to study with the Strozzi Institute and learn Somatic Coaching. In somatics we work with the body and mind together (much like yoga- but without the poses) to create freedom, ease and new pathways forward.
I opened and ran Yoga Nova studio, have led over a dozen teacher trainings and personally coached and taught many teachers to be successful in applying yoga as a teacher at the front of the room and in their lives. My absolute favorite thing to do is open a door in someone’s mind, to unblock something or reposition it so that you can have what it is you most want in your life. If you are experiencing frustration, stuckness or even just a general malaise please schedule a time for a quick assessment and let’s see if we can move that feeling out of your body and you forward.
