FAQ

QUESTIONS? See below for most asked questions regarding Yoga Teacher Training.

What is Yoga Teacher Training?

Yoga Teacher Training is not only an opportunity to share your love and passion of yoga with the world but it is also an inner journey of self-discovery. It is an experience where you will strengthen your personal practice, learn the skills to teach yoga, and transform your life and the lives of others around you.

You get what you put in with training! Whether you actually want to teach or treat yourself to a journey of self-discovery and deepen your practice, this is for you.

Where AND When is training held?

We designed our training for the on the go girl/guy. We know that everyone has commitments, jobs, families and school! We have 3 different formats during the year so we truly have something for everyone. Just weekends, intensive daytimes, and weekday evening/weekend combinations. Check out the training tab for dates and times for 2019.

Most of the training will be held at an awesome office space in downtown Calgary. Some weekend sessions will be held at HotShop’s Northwest and Victoria Park studios.

How many modules and what is the price?

Do you have payment plans? Our Fall/Winter 200 Hour YTT has been broken down into 3 modules. The total cost of the training is $3399 including a non-refundable $500 deposit to secure your spot.

We offer flexible payment plans!

We do not ever want money to be the reason you cannot attend training. Contact us to make a payment plan that works best for you!

What are the requirements outside of contact hours?

Approximately 20 hours of homework, reading and practicum will be required outside of the 180 contacts hours to meet the 200 Hour requirements.

How do I know if I’m ready?

All you need to do is say yes. We do not require you to be a super advanced yogi! We recommend an understanding of basic yoga postures, a semi regular practice and an open heart! Teacher Training is an amazing way to transform your practice, deepen your knowledge of yoga and of yourself. The desire to teach is not essential to the experience.

What if I need to miss a session or hours?

We completely understand that things may come up – life gets in the way! We will coordinate make up hours for you to make sure you get certified. We will assess this case by case and may require an additional charge depending on what is missed.

Do I need to practice yoga asana to take part in this training?

Yes. Training can be quite physical. We will practice yoga asana daily. If you have injuries or physical restrictions, please indicate on your registration form. This is totally fine however - it will be good to learn modifications for injuries or restrictions! It is important that you listen to your body and take breaks where necessary.

Are some Teacher Trainings better than others?

Keep in mind that every training will be very different and it is important that you know the style of training you are looking for. The energy you bring to the training, along with the others around you will contribute to the unique experience. All Yoga Alliance certified trainings are governed by a strict syllabus with hour and teaching standards they believe all yoga teachers should be taught. Yoga Alliance certifications are recognized worldwide.

Will I be qualified to teach yoga once I complete the 200-Hour Teacher Training Program?

You will have the tools you need to start your journey towards teaching yoga classes. Please keep in mind that the work is up to you once you have completed the training hours to practice, practice, practice until you feel comfortable to teach at a studio level. Most students will take time to continue to study, grow and practice once the training has ended.
